Epic Private began with children, and they still form the majority of our private work.
The key with children is to get them to relax enough to be themselves - but not so much that they go bonkers! It's a fine line to tread and we aim to end up with a mix of more studied, composed portraits and a healthy dollop of mad-cap mayhem thrown in.
Shooting at home or at a favourite spot helps them to relax and provides a more meaningful backdrop than a studio ever can. And, lucky for them, young skin and clear eyes lend themselves to the use of natural light and location photography.
We find a couple of hours is about as much as the children can stand, and long enough to produce a good range of images.
