Etchings

Etchings

While we wouldn’t claim to be Rembrandt these etchings are produced using the same techniques and pigments he would have used – and we think the results are compelling, thoughtful, and ultimately timeless.

Working with a master etcher your chosen photograph is turned into a copper-plate etching - or "photogravure" - which is then inked and printed by hand onto specialist papers, producing tonally rich, textured and truly unique results which justify the term “work of art”.

So much of the imagery we encounter today is informed by advertising and commerce – bright, bold, over-saturated colours, immediately demanding of our attention – these etchings are an altogether more subtle, demure and soulful experience.
